Skyscrapers, a stunning skyline, delicious cuisine, and spectacular hiking trails are just a few of Hong Kong’s many attractions. Hong Kong is a fast-paced city where everyone moves and eats quickly. Everything here goes at a rapid pace, and yes, that includes the trains and escalators too! In this post, I will share some of the serene parks in Hong Kong that offer opportunities for locals or tourists to take a break and connect with nature.
The Parks of Hong Kong
Hong Kong Park

Hong Kong Park is a conveniently located park in the heart of Admiralty. It boasts an artificial lake, a teaware museum, and a stunning waterfall that will soothe your senses. If you’re a nature lover, you’ll be delighted to know that the park also has an indoor conservatory that showcases a variety of plants from different regions. Additionally, the aviary is home to a diverse range of bird species that you can observe and appreciate.
What’s more, the park is situated right across from the Peak tram terminal, making it an ideal addition to your itinerary if you’re planning to visit Victoria Peak. For more information about the park, be sure to check out the Hong Kong Park Official website.
Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Garden

Located in the heart of Central, the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Garden is a must-visit destination for nature lovers. The garden boasts a diverse range of animals and plants, including monkeys, birds, otters, and more. In addition to the flora and fauna, the garden also features several historical landmarks, such as the memorial arch and statue of King George VI. Plus, it’s just a short 11-minute walk from Tai Kwun, making it an easy addition to your itinerary. For further information about the garden, check out the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Garden website.
Nan Lian Garden

Nan Lian Garden is a stunning Tang dynasty-style oasis nestled within the bustling Diamond Hill area. Surrounded by towering skyscrapers, it offers a striking contrast between traditional heritage and modern city life.
Easily accessible via the MTR, it’s a perfect quick detour if you are already visiting the nearby Wong Tai Sin Temple. With its tranquil ponds, lush greenery, and intricate golden pavilions, it is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to unwind.
Hutchison Park

Lastly, I want to introduce the Hutchison Park. I did not know about this park until I needed to pick up something in this area. Hutchison Park is a recreational space located in the Hung Hom area that offers a serene environment for people to relax and unwind. The park features a children’s playground and exercise stations for elders. It is an ideal spot for people of all ages. Despite its English name, the park’s structures are designed in a traditional Chinese style, adding to its unique charm. Visitors can enjoy the peaceful ambiance of the park while listening to the melodious chirping of birds in the background. If you’re looking for a tranquil spot to spend some quality time, Hutchison Park is worth a visit.
