If you’re visiting Hong Kong, Victoria Peak is a must-see destination that offers breathtaking views of the city skyline. To make the most of your trip to Victoria Peak, you can follow this half-day itinerary that includes some of the top attractions and activities in the area.
Transportation
You can take the MTR to Central Station, take Bus 15 or Minibus 1 from Exchange Square. Whichever route you choose, having an Octopus card (Hong Kong’s contactless smart card) is highly recommended, as you can use it to seamlessly pay for the MTR, public buses, and minibuses.
To take the Peak Tram, take the MTR to Central Station or Admiralty Station, then walk towards the Peak Terminus. Central Station is generally closer.
The Peak Tram was under renovation for over a year and reopened in August 2022. The Peak Tram features a modern design with large panoramic windows. Even if you aren’t seated in the front row, you’ll still get a spectacular view of the Hong Kong skyline as the tram ascends. If this is your first time visiting, taking the tram is highly recommended.
Victoria Peak Attractions
Besides the stunning city view, some of the attractions at Victoria Peak include the Sky Terrace, Madness 3D Adventure, and the Hong Kong Trail.
Madame Tussaud Museum
If you’re a fan of celebrities, you won’t want to miss the Madame Tussauds Museum. This popular attraction is home to lifelike wax figures of some of the world’s most famous actors, singers, and other popular figures. You can take pictures with your favorite celebrities and even get up close and personal with their detailed features and signature outfits. From Hollywood legends to pop sensations, Madame Tussauds has it all. So, whether you’re a music lover, movie buff, or simply looking for a fun and unique experience, be sure to add Madame Tussaud’s Museum to your list of must-visit destinations.
If you plan to take the Peak Tram, booking a combo ticket online is highly recommended, as it bundles your round-trip tram tickets and museum admission together for a better rate. Keep in mind that some combo options are specifically designated for morning arrivals and require you to redeem your tickets at the Central Terminus counter before midday. Be sure to check the latest entry windows and pricing details directly on the booking page before your visit.
Monopoly Dreams
🚨 UPDATE: Monopoly Dreams permanently closed its doors on November 23, 2025.
While this interactive, board-game-themed attraction used to be a popular stop for families and fans of Mr. Monopoly, it is no longer operating. If you see it mentioned in older travel guides, you can safely skip it when planning your current itinerary.
Sky Terrace
The Sky Terrace offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the magnificent city of Hong Kong. The Klook package includes an entrance to the Sky Terrace, which allows us to go up to the viewing deck and capture some splendid pictures of the stunning Hong Kong skyline. There is no time restriction when visiting the Sky Terrace, giving you ample time to explore and enjoy the view. If I had another opportunity to visit this amazing place, I would prefer to go during the late afternoon hours to witness the sunset and the mesmerizing skyline at night.
Madness 3D Adventure
If you are looking for free things to do, don’t miss this 3D museum at The Peak Tower. The entrance is free, but get there early if you want to go; it is usually crowded in the afternoon. There are three spots where you cannot use your mobile phone to take pictures. The official photographers will take the pictures for you, and you can view and buy the photos before you go.
Opening hours: 11 am to 8 pm
Hong Kong Trail (Lugard Road)
Lastly, before taking the Peak tram down to Admiralty, you can also check out the Hong Kong trail. You’ll walk around in a big circle, a perfect way to view Hong Kong, Kowloon, and some outlying islands. The trail takes around 40 to 60 minutes.
